Weeks 1 to 4

Design & engineering

A conversation about your site and goals, then a tailored proposal with specs, finishes, and a fixed-price quote.

Weeks 5 to 10

Site preparation & pour

Foundation, airform, and a single continuous concrete pour. Watertight in under two weeks.

Weeks 11 to 16

Interior finishing & handover

Coastal dome home at dusk

Engineered for the worst

Built for fire, flood, wind, and time.

One structural standard, built to outperform conventional homes on every metric.

400 km/h

3-second gust wind resistance. Engineered design capacity to 400 km/h.

IBC II

Multi-hour fire exposure rated. Survived wildfires that destroyed surrounding structures.

8.0 +

Magnitude seismic rated. Monolithic shell moves as one mass.

Flood

Flood and storm-surge resistant. Single-pour, joint-free continuous shell.

EMP

Shielded by a passive Faraday cage. Defence and data-centre grade.

30 ft

Maximum burial depth. 2,000 PSF overburden, no load-bearing walls.

Frequently asked

The questions everyone asks.

How much does an EcoDomeHomes home actually cost?

It depends on size, configuration, and finish. In Portugal, starting prices are €115k for the Family (80 m², 2-bed), €155k for the Coastal, and €275k for the Compound, with finished tiers shown in the pricing tool. You get a fixed-price quote within two weeks.

Where do you build? Can you build at my site?

Our primary markets are Europe and the United States; builds elsewhere are by appointment. We evaluate your site as part of the design conversation and tell you honestly if it's a good fit.

Is this really 16 weeks? What's the catch?

Yes, 16 weeks from site-ready foundation to finished home. Design and engineering add about 4 weeks up front, and permitting varies by location. The build itself is the fast part.

Will it look like a weird dome house?

Only if you want it to. The shell is the canvas and the finish is yours, from minimalist plaster to stone cladding to a traditional roof. Inside, they're conventional rooms with conventional finishes.

Can I finance it like a normal home?

Yes. Our homes are permitted, inspected, and insured like any house, and qualify for standard residential mortgages in Portugal and the US.

What about resale value? Is this hard to sell later?

They appreciate at the same rate or better than conventional homes nearby, with the lowest operating costs and longest service life of any home. The math is straightforward.
