Pricing & Configuration

Configure your
residence.

Use the calculator below to see an estimated price for your configuration. Final pricing is determined after a site evaluation — but this gives you a real starting point, drawn from our actual cost model.

1. Configuration

Choose the type of residence that fits your project.

2. Build level

How finished should the home be when we hand it over?

3. Size

Approximate interior floor area in square meters.

Floor area 117
60 m² 220 m²
4. Add a second floor

A 9-foot upper level inside the dome — adds usable living area at roughly one-third the cost per m² of new construction, since the shell and foundation are already built.

5. Build location

Costs vary by labor and material rates in different regions.

6. Disaster-proof greenhouse (optional)

Add a year-round growing space — same airformed shell technology, with LED grow lights and automated climate control included.

7. Exterior finish

The look of the shell from outside. Some finishes also include a faux roofline that gives the home a more traditional silhouette.

8. Add-ons (optional)

Common upgrades, installed and coordinated as part of your build.

The real comparison

Versus conventional construction.

Apples-to-apples comparison on the same 117 m² home — built the conventional way vs. built as an EcoDomeHomes residence. Our Builder Grade tier comes in roughly 10% below conventional construction across both Portugal and the US, while delivering a structurally superior product with a 6–10× longer service life.

Conventional mid-range build
€1,800/m² typical
€210,600
EcoDomeHomes · Builder Grade

You save on the build ~€21,000
— United States · 117 m² home (1,260 sq ft)

EcoDomeHomes · Builder Grade
$214/sq ft · 10% below market

You save on the build ~$30,000
— The compounding math

It's not the build cost that matters. It's the lifetime cost.

6–10×
Service life vs. conventional construction
50–75%
Lower operational energy demand for life
80–90%
Lower exterior maintenance vs. conventional construction

Pricing FAQ

The questions everyone asks first.

Is this estimate accurate?
It's directionally accurate — based on the same cost model we use to scope real projects. The ±15% range reflects normal variance for site conditions, regulatory differences, and finish selections. Once we evaluate your site and confirm your specifications, you receive a fixed-price written quote that doesn't change.
What's not included in these prices?
The estimate covers everything from architectural design through final inspection of the build level you select. Not included: land purchase, regulatory fees specific to your jurisdiction (permits vary widely), landscaping outside the immediate site footprint, and connection to municipal utilities if not on-site.
Why does location change the price so much?
Three reasons: labor rates differ significantly between Portugal, broader EU, and the US; some materials are more expensive to source outside our Portuguese supply chain; and regulatory compliance varies (US code is more involved than EU code in several respects). Portugal is the baseline because our supply chain is fully domestic here.
Can I finance this like a normal home?
Yes — EcoDomeHomes residences are permitted, inspected, and insured like conventional homes. They qualify for standard residential mortgages in Portugal and the US. We can share our experience with specific lenders during your initial planning call.
How much do I need to put down to reserve a build slot?
Typical project deposit is 10% of the contract price, due on signature. This secures your slot in the build calendar and funds the design and engineering phase. Subsequent payments are tied to construction milestones.
What if I want something not in the calculator?
The calculator covers about 80% of typical projects. For larger compounds, unusual site conditions, fully custom architecture, or commercial-adjacent residential (e.g., a home with an attached agricultural structure), request a tailored quote — we'll respond within one business day.
